Cubs Made Multi-Year Offer To Javier Baez
Jon Heyman of the MLB Network is reporting that the Chicago Cubs made a multi-year offer in the $160-$170 million range in the spring of 2020. Baez has chosen to test the free agent market this offseason and will be one of many talented shortstops available that includes Corey Seager and Trevor Story. The talented shortstop has already hit four home runs, driven in 12 runs and stolen five bases, but is only hitting .214. The Cubs have been off to a slow start this season and could listen to offers on Baez if the club continues to struggle. El Mago should eventually pick things up offensively and should have a strong market in the upcoming offseason.
