4 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito got roughed up in Monday's start versus the Boston Red Sox. Giolito gave up a home run to the first batter he faced, infielder Enrique Hernandez and it went downhill from there. Giolito faced 11 batters and threw 47 pitches in the bottom of the first inning and allowed six runs (five earned). Giolito would come back out for the bottom of the second inning, but served up a home run to JD Martinez and a walk to Rafael Devers, before manager Tony La Russa pulled the plug. The All-Star finished with a final line of one inning, allowing eight hits, eight runs (seven earned), two walks and zero strikeouts. Despite the disappointing performance on Monday, Giolito remains one of the best starting pitchers in the league. He will look to get back to work on Sunday versus a weak Texas Rangers lineup.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
