Luke Voit Expected Back In Mid-May
4 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit (knee) is expected back around mid-May. The slugger underwent surgery in March and has yet to pick up a bat, but was fielding grounders on Sunday. Voit has hit 57 home runs over the past three seasons and is a big part of the middle of the Yankees lineup. When he is in the lineup, managers could expect to get a player who will help with power and average with a career .274 batting average. Second baseman DJ LeMahieu has shifted over to first base and Rougned Odor has taken over at second base. Voit's return will shift Odor back to the bench.
