Justus Sheffield Credited With First Win
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Justus Sheffield faced a tough task against the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers Monday, and he performed well. Over 5 2/3 innings, Sheffield allowed three runs on four hits and three walks. He added six strikeouts. The lone major blemish was a hanging slider that Corey Seager turned around for a two-run home run. Despite narrowly missing a quality start, Sheffield's fantasy managers are surely pleased with the win. The six strikeouts are also encouraging, as Sheffield raised his strikeout rate to 8.64 per nine innings. He remains a streaming option for fantasy.
