Chris Martin (Shoulder) Has Resumed Throwing
4 years agoAtlanta Braves right-hander Chris Martin, who's on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation, has begun throwing, per beat writer David O'Brien. He's just playing catch at the moment and has not started mound work but it's a step in the right direction for the 34-year-old, who wasn't able to throw as early as last week. He'll continue to ramp up for another week or so before progressing to bullpen sessions. The big right-hander only worked 1 2/3 innings this season before hitting the injured list but he was excellent for Atlanta during the shortened 2020 season. He put up a 1.00 ERA, 0.61 WHIP, and a 20:3 K/BB ratio over 18 innings last year. He's worth rostering in leagues that count Saves+Holds whenever he's activated.
