4 years agoSeattle Mariners designated hitter Ty France was given most of the day off Tuesday after he was struck on the forearm with a Dustin May fastball on Monday. He did pinch hit in the eighth inning for Taylor Trammell, and even more importantly stayed in the game to play second base. France struck out in his only at-bat, but it is an excellent sign for fantasy managers and Mariners fans alike that he was in good enough condition to both bat and throw so soon after the hit-by-pitch. France has been an outstanding value to start the year, and should be rostered in all formats.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
