Uneven Start For Taijuan Walker On Tuesday
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Taijuan Walker lasted just 3 2/3 innings in the Mets' 3-1 loss to the Cubs on Tuesday in Chicago. Walker allowed only two hits and two earned runs while striking out seven, but control issues aided by home plate umpire John Libka's tight strike zone plagued the 28-year old. Walker walked six batters, raising his overall walk total to 11 over just 14 innings pitched on the season. Despite the uneven outing, Walker (0-1) still appears to be on the verge of a bounceback season as the Mets' third starter. If he can limit the walks, he should outperform his pre-season ADP. Notwithstanding Tuesday's outing, fantasy managers should keep Walker active for his next start on Sunday against the Nationals at home.
