Richard Rodriguez Earns Second Save Wednesday
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates closer Richard Rodriguez picked up his second save of the year on Wednesday afternoon, tossing a scoreless inning of relief in the first game of a doubleheader split with the Tigers. Looking at his numbers, Rodriguez has had a good start to the year with 7 1/3 scoreless innings where he's allowed just one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts. However the Pirates as a team have only had three save opportunities so far, and they don't look like they'll be in position for a ton of saves this year. For now, Rodriguez will likely have more value in SV/HLD formats, but as long as he's got the closer job he'll be fantasy relevant in nearly every format.
