4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas allowed six runs in only four innings in a no-decision versus the Twins on Wednesday. Montas now has two good starts and two bad starts on the season which has his numbers looking worse than he's actually pitched. Montas has a 6.75 ERA, but his SIERA is at a much more manageable 3.83. He's also dealt with a 3.45 BABIP, a 20 percent HR/FB rate, and a strand rate under 70 percent. The season is still obviously a small sample but there are encouraging signs Montas can turn things around. He's faced strong offenses in three of his four starts so keep the faith in Montas. The Rays are another good offense versus righties, but they also strike out a lot and Tampa is a solid pitcher's park making Montas startable in fantasy.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
