Joc Pederson Placed On Injured List And Nico Hoerner Called Up
4 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Joc Pederson (wrist) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with left wrist tendinitis. Pederson has really struggled this season and has been out of the lineup for two straight games. The outfielder is hitting a weak .137 with one home run and four RBI this season. With Pederson out of the lineup, outfielder Jake Marisnick could receive more playing time and can be avoided in all formats for now. It's also a possibility that third baseman Kris Bryant will see more time in the outfield with infielders Eric Sogard and Matt Duffy shifting to third base. Replacing Pederson on the roster will be second base prospect Nico Hoerner. Hoerner had a strong spring and could see some starts at second base with the opportunity to earn the everyday spot. Hoerner is a name to keep an eye on in deeper leagues.
