4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (quad) is getting closer to a return to action. Springer is slated to play center field in an intrasquad game at the team's alternate site on Friday. This is an important step for the veteran outfielder, as he was having trouble running, so if he can play the field smoothly, it would be a big step. The team could activate him off the injured list for this weekend's series against the Rays, so it bears watching to see how Springer's body responds to game action, as his overall recovery hasn't come without setbacks. If all goes well, fantasy managers could be locking the three-time All-Star back into their lineups this weekend.--Tim Capurso
