Tua Tagovailoa (QB, MIA)

Age: 23
Movement: Rising
Previous Rank: QB17
Updated Rank: QB15

Most rational fantasy football players would grade Tagovailoa’s rookie season as “incomplete.” It is also fair to say his rookie season did not meet expectations. Understanding he was coming off a serious injury in 2019, even skeptics are taking a wait-and-see approach. At this time next year, we will have the answer.

Tagovailoa will have been one of the best values in Superflex leagues at his ADP of QB13 or he will be labeled another first-round QB bust. The risk is built into his draft cost. All of the offseason signals from Miami have been positive for his fantasy outlook. Miami traded out of the top-three picks, showing they are not considering a QB in 2021. In fact, they traded around the draft board to a position that looks like they will add skill talent to help. In today’s NFL, it is tough to project players more than a season out, and Tua is no different. He is locked into the job for 2021, but his 2022 status is uncertain. The good news is that it is in his hands. The Miami draft pick trades secure Tagovailoa's position and are enough to tick him up a few spots in our Superflex rankings.

Baker Mayfield (QB, CLE)

Age: 26
Movement: Rising
Previous Rank: QB15
Updated Rank: QB12

Baker Mayfield has had a roller coaster ride in fantasy football and real life so far in the NFL. The number one overall pick in 2018, Mayfield set the rookie record for touchdown passes (27) in 2018 despite not starting until Week 3 that season. It should be noted that 2020 rookie Justin Herbert broke Mayfield’s record with 31 touchdown passes. Mayfield was a consensus top-eight QB pick in 2019 after the Browns added Odell Beckham Jr. to their roster.

Mayfield disappointed in 2019, finishing as the QB19. In 2020, Baker once again was off to a poor start and was dropped in many 1QB redraft leagues. Superflex players who drafted Mayfield as a top-10 dynasty option were unsure of their investment. If your team somehow survived until the fantasy playoffs, Baker Mayfield came through in a big way. In weeks 13-16, Mayfield finished as the QB5. He looked poised, pocket aware, and showed off his cannon arm. The Browns showed well in the NFL playoffs, and there is reason to be optimistic about Mayfield’s fantasy outlook for the next few years. In Superflex leagues, he is the ideal QB2. In recent startup drafts, he is in the top-40 picks.

Tee Higgins  (WR, CIN)

Age: 22
Movement: Slightly Falling
Previous Rank: WR15
Updated Rank: WR19

Let us state emphatically that we still LOVE Tee Higgins. His slight ranking drop has nothing to do with his talent, but more about the looming risk before the NFL draft. The Bengals own pick five in the 2021 draft. There is a risk that Cincinnati selects Kyle Pitts or their WR1. If that happens, that player instantly has better draft capital than Tee Higgins and will undoubtedly chew into his upside right from the start. If the Bengals draft a lineman, Higgins would move right back up the rankings. RosterWatch’s dynasty rankings pledge to be real-time dynamic rankings that guide you if you are drafting today. With the information we have right now, we prefer Allen Robinson, Amari Cooper, and D.J. Moore over Higgins.
