Yusei Kikuchi Gives Up Five Runs Friday
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi had a tough outing Friday against the Boston Red Sox, lasting only 4 2/3 innings. He gave up five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out only one. He gave up two home runs, to Xander Bogaerts and J.D. Martinez. Kikuchi did not seem to have his command for this one, as his pitch count climbed quickly amidst all the walks and deep counts. Kikuchi was a popular sleeper pick entering the season, but he's given up much too much hard contact to inspire much confidence. He's a hold for now, but fantasy managers may want to keep an eye out for other options.
