German Marquez Logs Quality Start Against The Phillies
4 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander German Marquez took a no-decision on Friday when he allowed two runs on six hits with three walks and eight strikeouts over six innings in a 5-4 win over the Phillies. Marquez was locked in on Friday, registering a season-high eight strikeouts. The only runs he allowed were pair of RBI groundouts from J.T. Realmuto and Bryce Harper in the second and fourth innings, respectively. The 26-year-old righty has notched three quality starts in five starts to begin the year but only has a 1-1 record to show for it. He does have a solid 3.45 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 28:16 K/BB ratio over 28 2/3 innings (five starts). He should have a decent chance at nabbing his second win of the season in his next turn when he faces the Giants in San Francisco.
