4 years agoKansas City Royals second baseman Whit Merrifield went 2-for-5 with one RBI, a run scored and his sixth stolen base of the season in a 6-2 win over the Tigers on Friday. It was his third stolen base in his last five games, as he moved into sole possession of second place on the 2021 stolen base leaderboard, behind MLB leader Ramon Laureano. He's off to a great start swiping bags, as he has reached six steals in 18 games after stealing 12 bases in 60 games last year. While it's still very early in the season and anything could happen, Merrifield looks to be on pace for his first 40-steal campaign since 2018.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
