4 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez will rest on Saturday versus the Milwaukee Brewers. Baez has been heating up lately and El Mago has eight hits over his last 26 at-bats with three home runs and driven in nine with one stolen base over that time. Baez on the season has hit .233 with eight home runs. 24 RBI and three stolen bases. The upcoming free agent is just getting a regular day off Saturday and should be back in the lineup on Sunday to face the Brewers. Second Baseman Nico Hoerner will make his first start at shortstop and bat eighth. Hoerner was called up on Thursday and went 3-for-4 with one RBI in Friday's start. Hoerner is a name to keep an eye on in deeper leagues, but will face a tough matchup in Freddy Peralta on Saturday.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
