Jhoulys Chacin Takes The Loss In Relief On Saturday
4 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Jhoulys Chacin was hit hard on Saturday vs. the Phillies, taking the loss in a 7-5 defeat. He lasted just 2/3 of an inning while surrendering three runs on two hits with two walks. Chacin was tasked with preserving a 4-4 tie in the top of the sixth inning but ran into trouble right away when Nick Maton laced a double off him and Roman Quinn drew a walk. Quinn was later caught stealing but then Chacin walked Andrew McCutchen and Rhys Hoskins busted the game open with a three-run home run, his second of the game. The Rockies were never able to reclaim the lead and Chacin took his first loss of the year. His return to Colorado has not gone very well so far with a 7.94 ERA, 2.29 WHIP, and 4:5 K/BB ratio over 5 2/3 innings of relief. There is zero fantasy appeal here.
