4 years agoAtlanta Braves pitcher Drew Smyly's nightmare 2021 season continued on Sunday when he was roughed up by the Arizona Diamondbacks during a 7-0 loss. He allowed six runs in four innings of work. The lefty coughed up two walks and six hits — three of which cleared the outfield fences. Smyly is coming off a strong showing in 2020 when he posted a 3.42 ERA with a 42-9 K-BB in 26 1/3 innings. This season, his ERA sits at 7.20 with a K-BB of 15-3 through 15 innings of work. The home run ball has been the biggest issue for the veteran hurler with six allowed through three starts. Smyly signed a one-year, $11-million contract prior to the season to help stabilize the young pitching staff.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
