4 years agoSometimes it is better to have a little luck go one's way. Michael McDowell was able to get on the right line at the right time during the overtime on Sunday. The Talladega Superspeedway makes it paramount to be patient. McDowell was clever enough to time his run just right. He nearly got by William Byron for second place but had to settle for third at the Geico 500. McDowell stayed near the front throughout most of the 71 lap final stage as his No. 34 had very good closing speed. It was his best result since Daytona.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
