Javier Baez Dealing With Sore Hamstring
4 years agoUpdating a previous report, Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez is dealing with a sore hamstring, which is why he will be held out of Monday's lineup versus the Atlanta. Baez hurt his hamstring on Sunday, and the Cubs are being cautious with their talented shortstop, but manager David Ross said that Baez could be available off the bench if needed. Second baseman Nico Hoerner will replace Baez on Monday and will be the leadoff man for the Cubs in the series opener against the Atlanta Braves and right-hander Charlie Morton.
