4 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda had another rough outing in a 7-4 loss to the Indians on Tuesday. Maeda pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out a trio of batters with no walks. The veteran hurler allowed a homer in each of his first two frames, then allowed his third long ball of the game with the score tied in the bottom half of the sixth. Maeda has now allowed 12 earned runs and six homers in his last two starts. If there's any silver lining, it's that his velocity was back up to its usual levels during Tuesday's game after a slight dip in his last start, so he doesn't appear to be dealing with an injury. Much of Maeda's troubles seem to be stemming from pitch location, something he'll have to shore up ahead of his next outing on May 3 against the Rangers, who are tied for seventh in the majors in home runs as a team.--Tim Capurso
