Javier Baez Diagnosed With Grade 1 Hamstring Strain
4 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez (hamstring) underwent an MRI on Wednesday, and it was revealed that he has a mild Grade 1 left hamstring strain. The good news is that Baez has appeared to avoid being placed on the injured list after missing three of the last four games. The Cubs are going to remain cautious with Baez, and they will see how he feels before posting their lineup for this evening. Second baseman Nico Hoerner has been playing shortstop with Baez sidelined and has been off to a hot start this season. Baez remains day-to-day, and Hoerner is likely to slide back to his original position when Baez is cleared to return.
