4 years agoSan Diego Padres infielder Ha-Seong Kim finished 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored Wednesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Making his first start in a week, Kim lined a ringing two-run single off D-Backs starter Riley Smith to kick off a six-run fifth inning. He also doubled in the contest. The 25-year-old has expectedly struggled in the majors after dominating the KBO, slashing just .220/.291/.300 with a homer, steal and 10 runs-plus-RBI in 55 plate appearances. Despite playing sporadically, Kim could earn more opportunities with second baseman Jake Cronenworth scuffling and outfielder Tommy Pham (calf) hobbled. While the 112.3 max exit velocity is a silver lining, Kim's lukewarm batted-ball outcomes and volatile playing time make him a tough sell outside of deeper and NL-only formats.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
