Joey Votto Hits 300th Career Home Run
4 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto had a big game in an 8-6 win over the Chicago Cubs on Friday. Votto went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a homer, and three RBI in the win over the division-rival Cubs. Votto's homer was the 300th of his storied career and was absolutely crushed, with an exit velocity of 113 MPH and traveling an estimated 429 feet. The veteran first baseman has been enjoying a strong start to the season, hitting .242 with five homers, six doubles, nine runs, and 16 RBI through 95 at-bats. With the blast, Votto became just the third player in Reds history to reach 300 homers. With his renewed power stroke, Votto has worked his way back into the conversation as an everyday starting first baseman in fantasy leagues.
