Drew Smyly Haunted By Homers In Loss
4 years agoAtlanta Braves pitcher Drew Smyly struggled in his start on Friday and allowed three of the six home runs that Blue Jays batters slugged against the club during a 13-5 loss. The veteran lefty has now allowed an eye-opening nine home runs in just 19 innings of work in 2021. Last season, he allowed just two homers in 26.1 innings. Previous to that, Smyly had allowed 32 homers in two straight seasons. With no wins and an ERA of 8.05, the southpaw is not an ideal fantasy option at this point in any format but his solid history of success suggests he might turn things around as the season progresses.
