Hyeon-Jong Yang Throws Four Scoreless Innings
4 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher Hyeon-Jong Yang pitched 4 1/3 innings of one-hit relief during the club's 6-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Friday. He entered the game after starter Kohei Arihara was chased after allowing four home runs in 2 2/3 innings. Yang did not allow a run and posted a K-BB of 4-1 while throwing 36 of his 51 pitches for strikes (71%). The 33-year-old South Korean has now appeared in two games this season. In 8 2/3 innings, he's allowed six hits with a K-BB of 5-1. Given his previous success as a starter in his home country, Yang may eventually be handed a shot at starting in the majors if he continues to have success in his current role.
