LJay Newsome Has Disastrous First Start
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Ljay Newsome made his first start of the year Saturday night, and it could not have gone worse. Facing the Angels, Newsome allowed eight runs on seven hits and two walks in only two innings of work. He allowed three home runs and struck out one. Newsome had no trouble throwing strikes, but unfortunately he was catching a ton of plate and the Angels were taking advantage. Newsome took the loss in this one, and didn't look like a player fantasy managers will want to go anywhere near. Leave him on the waiver wire.
