Yasmani Grandal Out Of Sunday's Lineup
4 years agoChicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal will be out of Sunday's lineup versus the Cleveland Indians. The veteran has been off to a dreadful start this season and has just seven hits in 55 at-bats, but he has produced two home runs and nine RBI. Grandal has former first-round pick Zack Collins as his backup and Collins has been calling good games behind the plate and been solid at the plate when he has filled in for Grandal. Collins has hit .229 on the season with one home run and five RBI. Grandal is still likely to keep the job, but after a month into the season, managers may want to either add Collins as insurance for Grandal or consider rostering a catcher that can help in the immediate future with the hope that Grandal will get going at the plate. Collins will bat sixth against Zach Plesac on Sunday. Collins only has one career at-bat versus Plesac, but the starter has been torched by the White Sox this season and Collins could be a sneaky cheap play in DFS.
