4 years agoChicago White Sox designated hitter Yermin Mercedes has been scratched from Sunday's lineup versus the Cleveland Indians for with manager Tony La Russa saying that infielder Jake Lamb has earned at-bats and deserves them. Mercedes was scheduled to bat fifth on Sunday, but the White Sox released an updated lineup that has Lamb as the designated hitter. Lamb will bat fifth on Sunday against Zach Plesac. Mercedes is unlikely to start on Tuesday and Wednesday with the Pale Hose playing guest against the Cincinnati Reds. Mercedes has finally cooled off after a historic start to the season and hitting .250 with one home and on RBI over the past week. Mercedes should remain rostered in all formats, but managers in weekly lineups would be wise to rest him next week.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
