Joe Musgrove Knocked Around In Loss
4 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Joe Musgrove permitted six runs (five earned) in five innings Sunday against the San Francisco Giants. Musgrove's undoing began in a four-run third inning and he cemented his loss by yielding two more scores in his final frame. The right-hander struck out six while allowing four knocks and two free passes over 85 pitches. After a stellar start to the 2021 campaign, the 28-year-old has made two consecutive subpar outings. He still owns a sharp 2.38 ERA and 0.74 WHIP while demonstrating excellent swing-and-miss stuff with a 36 percent strikeout rate. He'll have an opportunity to rematch the Giants this Saturday at Oracle Park and should remain a must-start in all fantasy formats.
