4 years agoChicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn announced on Monday that outfielder Luis Robert (hip) has been diagnosed with a Grade 3 hip flexor strain. Hahn wasn't sure if the injury would require surgery yet, but Robert will not participate in baseball activities for 12-to-16 weeks with a permanent timeline unknown at the moment. It's brutal news for both the White Sox and fantasy managers with Robert being one of the best young stars in the game and off to an impressive sophomore campaign. The talented outfielder hits the shelf with a .316 batting average, one home run, eight RBI and four stolen bases. Outfielder Adam Engel (hamstring) is expected to take over in the outfield for Robert in the long term, but he is currently on the 10-day injured list with a hamstring injury. In the meantime, outfielder Billy Hamilton and utility man Leury Garcia figure to get the bulk of the opportunities in the lineup.
