3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander German Marquez allowed a whopping eight runs on six hits with two walks and one strikeout over just 2/3 of an inning in a 12-4 loss to the Giants in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader. Marquez never had a chance in this one as he allowed 8-of-10 batters that he faced to reach base. He left with two outs before Jhoulys Chacin came in and surrendered a grand slam to Brandon Belt. All in all, the Giants put up 10 runs in the opening frame and Marquez was charged with eight of them. The horrible outing leaves the 26-year-old with a 6.21 ERA and 1.68 over 33 1/3 innings (seven starts). He'll try to bounce back on the road vs. the Cardinals in his next start.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
