4 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon went a combined 1-for-8 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's doubleheader vs. the Giants. Blackmon went hitless in Game 1, which marked the 14th time he's done that this season. But he saved the best for last in Game 2. He was 0-for-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning with the Rockies trailing 6-2. Trevor Story got things going with a two-run double before a Ryan McMahon single narrowed the score down to 6-5. Then it was Blackmon's time to shine. He smoked a Camilo Doval offering over the wall in right field to walk it off for Colorado. The three-run dinger was just his second of the season. The veteran outfielder is slashing a disappointing .191/.308/.326 with two home runs and 15 RBI over 89 at-bats but perhaps Tuesday night's heroics will serve as a catalyst for the 34-year-old.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
