3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Jeff Hoffman turned in an ineffective outing in a 9-0 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. Hoffman allowed four runs in 2 1/3 innings of work while striking out four and walking one. He threw 63 pitches, with just 36 of those going for strikes. Hoffman took the loss, dropping his record to 2-2 with a 4.39 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 23 strikeouts in 26 2/3 innings of work. He got off to a strong start with the Reds this year but he has now allowed seven runs over his past two starts, spanning just 6 1/3 innings. Hoffman will hope for better results when he takes the mound against the Pittsburgh Pirates next time through the rotation.--Matt T - RotoBaller
