Joey Votto May Be Out For A Month
4 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto (hand) will miss up to a month after breaking his left thumb during Wednesday's win over the Chicago White Sox. The veteran was nailed by a Dallas Keuchel pitch in the fourth inning and was subsequently replaced by Kyle Farmer. Although it appears the 37-year-old doesn't need surgery, it is still discouraging news. Votto is batting .226 throughout 29 games this season, racking up 24 hits, 17 RBI, and five home runs, although he has struck out 25 times.
