Jon Gray Punches Out Eight Against San Francisco
3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Jon Gray picked up a quality start and a win on Wednesday when he allowed two runs on four hits with two walks and eight strikeouts in a 6-5 win over the Giants. Gray really made just one mistake in this contest when he served up a two-run shot to Brandon Crawford in the top of the second inning. He mostly kept the pesky Giants' offense off the basepaths, though, and earned his fourth win of the season. The 29-year-old has defied the odds this year as he's notched four quality starts at home, which is no easy feat. He's rocking a 3.12 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 38:16 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 innings (seven starts). He draws the Padres in Coors Field in his next start but should be avoided in that one, despite his stellar numbers at home thus far.
