Jake Cronenworth Delivers Clutch Knock
4 years agoSan Diego Padres second baseman Jake Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with two RBI Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Cronenworth delivered a clutch two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning to cement the victory for the Friars, recording his eighth and ninth RBI. The 27-year-old has cooled off at the dish, slashing .263/.338/.381 with two homers, three steals and 24 runs-plus-RBI in 135 plate appearances. Tonight was his first multihit game since April 25. The versatile lefty is still exhibiting great plate discipline but has lacked in the hard-hit department. Still, he has a legitimate shot at a 15/15 season and his positional flexibility makes him a strong platoon player in standard mixed leagues.
