Spotted a two-run advantage, the wily veteran required 11 pitches to retire the side while allowing a harmless single. Leading the majors in saves, Melancon owns a stellar 0.60 ERA, 0.47 WHIP and career-best 30 percent strikeout rate in 15 innings. He's also been perfect in closing chances.
