4 years agoIn a surprise move, the New York Mets transferred starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco (hamstring) to the 60-day injured list on Thursday. This will now push Carrasco's return timeline back just a few weeks. Originally expected to rejoin the Mets the week of May 9, Carrasco now cannot return to the team until May 31. It is unclear whether this move is the result of some setback in his recovery or the Mets wanting to give him a few rehab starts in the minors before activating him. Carrasco had a solid 2020 with the Indians posting a 2.91 ERA with 82 strikeouts in 68 innings pitched. Assuming this move was simply the result of the Mets looking to get a few rehab starts under Carrasco's belt before a return to the rotation, he should slot into the Mets' rotation as their SP2 at the end of May.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
