Taijuan Walker Dominant On Thursday
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Taijuan Walker dominated the Cardinals on Thursday en route to his second win of the season in the Mets' 4-1 victory. Walker went seven innings, allowing only one hit and one unearned run while striking out eight. It was, without question, Walker's best start of the young 2021 campaign. He lowered his ERA on the season to 2.38 and he now owns a 1.03 WHIP to go with 35 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched. Walker has been a nice surprise for the Mets in the early part of 2021, particularly given the fact they are without Noah Syndergaard (elbow) and Carlos Carrasco (hamstring) until the end of May. Fantasy managers who took a flier on Walker in the later rounds of drafts are certainly enjoying this bounce-back season from the 28-year old righty. Walker will next face the Orioles at home on Wednesday in a favorable matchup.
