4 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher Wilson Ramos (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a lumbar spine strain, according to Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press. Manager AJ Hinch said that the team hopes it is a short term injury for Ramos, but he was expected to be out long enough that they opted to place him on the injured list to free up a space on the roster. Ramos is currently tied for fourth among catchers with six home runs this season, as he is slashing .227/.265/.464 in 29 games. In a corresponding move, the Tigers have recalled prospect Jake Rogers from Triple-A.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
