Jonathan Villar Making Most Of Playing Time
4 years agoNew York Mets infielder/outfielder Jonathan Villar went 2-for-3 with a stolen base, two walks, and an RBI in the Mets' 5-4 ten inning win over the Diamondbacks on Friday. The steal was Villar's first of the season. Villar is now batting .273/.407/.409 with a home run, four RBI, and a steal in May while primarily serving as the Mets' regular third baseman with J.D. Davis (hand) and Luis Guillorme (oblique) both on the injured list. The 30-year old makes for a decent streaming option as a corner infielder in deeper leagues and NL-only formats, while he gets regular playing time, given his stolen base and RBI potential. Fantasy managers in need of cheap steals may wish to take a flier on Villar in the short term.
