Gregory Polanco Violated COVID-19 Protocols
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco (COVID-19 protocols) was placed on the injured list on Tuesday due to violating COVID-19 protocols, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports on Saturday. Polanco had been placed on the injured list on Tuesday without an injury designation, but Mackey now reports that it was due to Polanco violating protocols, and it's believed to be as a result of Polanco utilizing a training service outside of the team's bubble while in San Diego. Because of this Polanco will be out a minimum of 10 days, meaning he won't be eligible to return until the end of this week. Polanco got off to a slow start this year, but had begun to heat up recently by slashing .258/.281/.419 over his last nine games.
