4 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Dominic Smith drove in a run on Sunday with a single in the bottom of the seventh inning to increase the Mets lead to 4-2. Smith went 1-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch in the contest. Smith has had a disappointing start to the season, only slashing .222/.271/.323 with two home runs, but his underlying metrics suggest he has been unlucky. According to Statcast, his xBA, xWOBA, and xSLG sit at a much more solid .281, .355, and .487, respectively. Better days are coming for Smith, and it would be a mistake to drop him from fantasy rosters.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
