Wil Myers, Eric Hosmer Removed COVID-Related Issues
4 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers and Eric Hosmer were lifted from Tuesday's game against the Colorado Rockies due to COVID-19-related protocols. Myers exited the game in the third inning, and manager Jayce Tingler revealed that Myers tested positive for COVID-19 in the postgame. Hosmer was removed due to contact tracing. Myers will join shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. on the COVID-19 injured list, while Hosmer will be out until deemed safe to return. Utility men Jurickson Profar and Jorge Mateo are also in the protocols. With an outbreak underway in the Friars locker room, the team will rely on backup infielders Ha-Seong Kim, Tucupita Marcano and outfielder John Andreoli to fill the void in Wednesday's doubleheader at Coors Field.
