Yusei Kikuchi Strikes Out 11 Dodgers
3 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi had yet another excellent start on Tuesday night in a difficult matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kikuchi delivered his third consecutive quality start, throwing 6 1/3 innings and giving up three runs on six hits and a walk. Kikuchi possibly pitched even better than his line indicates, as two of those runs crossed the plate after he was removed from the game. Kikuchi also notably set down a career-high 11 batters via strikeout, giving him 45 punchouts in 44 innings this year, compared to only 13 walks. Kikuchi was a popular breakout pick entering the year based on his outstanding 2020 metrics, and after a rough first few outings, he's now delivering on that promise. Fantasy managers would be wise to add Kikuchi if they still can.
