4 years agoAtlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. had his first hits since leaving a game on May 8 after being hit by a pitch on the hand. On Tuesday, the Atlanta star went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during the club's 5-3 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. He also struck out twice. Acuna Jr. now has three May home runs through the first nine games of the month. That amount brings his total for the year up to 11 through just 33 games, which suggests the new baseballs designed to dampen the offense in the game have not had an impact on him. Acuna Jr.'s previous season-high in homers was set back in 2019 when he slugged 41 in 156 games. He's also showing improved contact skills with a strikeout rate of 14.5% — down from almost 30% in 2020.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
