4 years agoToronto Blue Jays reliever A.J. Cole picked up his first save of the season on Wednesday, closing the door on the Braves in the club's 4-1 win. He walked one in the outing while serving up three fly-ball outs to secure his fourth career save. It was just the second appearance of the season for the right-hander after getting called up from the alternate site last week, but he did a fine job with the club in 2020 with a 3.09 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. Cole got the nod in the ninth with Jordan Romano getting the night off after a 29-pitch outing on Tuesday and primary setup man Tyler Chatwood handling the heart of the order in a 2-1 game in the eighth. There's no need to chase Cole on the waiver wire unless another arm were to fall in the Jays depleted bullpen.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
