Paul DeJong To Get MRI On Thursday
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals shortstop Paul DeJong (side) will undergo an MRI on Thursday after exiting Wednesday's game with left side discomfort, according to Zachary Silver of MLB.com. DeJong was called out on strikes in the top of the fifth inning, and then replaced defensively in the bottom of the inning. Silver reports that DeJong felt something in his side when he made a tag on Lorenzo Cain, and that it was in the same area where he was hit by a pitch on Tuesday night. There's no word on how long DeJong could be out, but managers will hope that when he returns he can improve upon his .177 average and .648 OPS he has recorded through his first 35 games of the year.
