4 years agoAtlanta Braves catcher William Contreras made his one hit count on Wednesday. The rookie catcher slugged his second home run of the season in the fifth inning of the club's 4-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. Since being recalled due to veteran catcher Travis d'Arnaud's season-ending injury, Contreras has gone 6-for-29 (.207) with two home runs and a BB-K of 2-10. He made his MLB debut in 2020 and hit .400 in 10 at-bats. The brother of Cubs catcher Willson Contreras is expected to see the majority of starts behind the plate for the Braves going forward — barring a trade. Contreras, 23, projects to be a solid but unspectacular offensive contributor and a decent pickup in two-catcher leagues.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
